This week's rehearsal was very special, as we celebrated the 40th birthday of the founding of the London Oriana Choir!

It was 40 years ago this week that Leon Lovett brought 23 keen singers together at the Gateway School, NW1. The first concert, Handel's Messiah, was performed at Australia House in December 1973.

At rehearsal last night we paused our Christmas rehearsal to celebrate in true Oriana fashion: some amazing birthday cakes baked by Oriana members, and a quickly improvised arrangement of the classic tune.

Happy birthday Oriana -- here's to 40 more years of fun times and exciting music!
